What began as a sleepless night, became Jennifer's first published Bible study. One night, unable to sleep, Jennifer
grabbed her Bible and a notepad, and quietly snuck out to the kitchen table. There, she began studying a passage out of 1
John. When she got to the 3:16 verse, Jennifer realized there was a unique connection between the concepts of 1 John
3:16 and John 3:16. She felt God nudging her to look up all the 3:16 verses in the New Testament, and did so, recording
the concepts of each verse on that little yellow notepad.
She found the major overarching themes of God's
plan for mankind unfolding in a fresh way. No, there is no mystical numerology or crazy-ness, just a consistency of Scripture
shown in a unique way through the overall big picture of God. In her spirit, Jennifer knew that God was calling her to "write
this down." To share the verses in a book. This would be a journey of obedience.
Over the next few
hours, and following two years, the connection between all the 3:16 verses of the New Testament came alive in her thoughts
and life. Having no formal training in book writing, she researched, worked hard, and obediently followed God's lead.
The result of that obedience? Life Principles for Christ-like Living by Jennifer Devlin, published
by AMG Publishers (in the Following God series) in 2006.
